Healthcare-based massage therapy
Healthcare-based massage therapy is a growing area of the massage profession. There is a great need for development, collaboration, and education for healthcare-based massage therapy in order to support that growth. For these reasons, a small group of like-minded colleagues who share their passion about massage therapy, have started a new organization to support the work of healthcare-based massage therapists, the Association of Massage Therapists in Healthcare.

The Association of Massage Therapists in Healthcare
The Association of Massage Therapists in Healthcare, (AMTiHC pronounced “Am-Tik”) will initially focus on three specific areas.
The priorities include:
- Education
- Practice Development
- Networking
Mission
The mission of the Association of Massage Therapists in Healthcare is to support healthcare-based massage therapists in their work through education, networking, compassion, and collaborative outreach to the greater healthcare field.
In carrying out this mission, AMTiHC shall:
- Support standards in massage therapy for the best interest of practitioners, patients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers
- Promote education to enhance safe and effective care for massage therapy patients and encourage provider professional development
- Develop opportunities for mentorship
- Provide a networking community
- Support healthcare organizations to develop a massage therapy service line
